Liquid spill damage can be very serious as it corrodes sensitive electronic components, but this doesn’t mean it’s not unfixable.
At most manufacturer repair stores, especially the leading and well know brands out there, you will likely hear quotes of £500 to £1,500 to repair your PC, Laptop or Mac’s water damage. Why so expensive? Their claim will be that they must replace the entire board making it a vastly overpriced repair. The reality is that they are not interested in getting their hands dirty fixing the totally reusable parts you already have: it’s much easier (and profitable) for them by replacing everything.
As soon as you get liquid in your PC, Laptop or Mac you should stop using it!
Turning it on will just make it worse as this allows electricity to flow through wet components. Even when the damage is extensive we can generally repair it, but its best to minimise damage in order to have a higher likelihood of fixing your board in a reasonable timeframe.
It’s likely you will need to leave your computer with us, but we will give you an assessment of what the liquid spill damaged, and what would need to be fixed, at no charge! If its too far damaged to be worth repairing, you can take it back at no cost.
